Body butter lotion from The Body Shop is an amazing product that I really just love.  Body butter cream is rich skincare lotion, the wide variety of different flavors it comes in all smell amazing, and it’s a thick stick to your skin formula.  I do not use any other lotion for my body or for my face.  This is definitely a five star product that I highly recommend.  The only problem is that I can not always afford it.  It comes in a plastic container and the large size is a bit expensive – I believe it is two for $30 dollars.  The miniature travel version of it that they sell at The Body Shop is $8 dollars.

The Body Shop sells the original Body Butter which will always be the best stuff. But seeing that I cannot always pay $15 for the lotion at The Body Shop, I make it a point to pick up the generic or similar versions of it whenever I can find them.  They have generic versions they sell at stores like Walmart and Target.  I also can find them sometimes at the 99 cent store and places like TJ Max.  You can get them for between $3 and $6 dollars if you go for the generic knockoff versions.  The price you have to pay for generic is that you don’t get to browse around in the pretty Body Shop Store (the shop at the Century City Mall in Los Angeles is my favorite)!

A word of warning to the consumer is that you should try any Body Butter that you get on a small area like your arm just to make sure you have no allergic reaction to it.  Body butter comes in so many different flavors and variations that you could potentially have a skin reaction if you get a new fragrance that you are allergic to.  So be careful on that.  Also, I found that if you buy generic body butter cream at the cheaper stores the consistency of the cream can be off.  If it is too liquid or runny you don’t want to buy it.  The good stuff has a thick consistency.  Given that you are careful about new fragrances and check the consistency of the lotion, you can often get away with generic.  I always have to buy the generic version.  If it is creamy enough then it works almost as well as the brand name Body Shop version.
 

I love the different fragrances and my tastes go from the classic nut butter flavor, to vanilla, coconut, shea or fruity smells.  I think fruity is advisable if you are going out on a date.  We girls like our lotion to smell like chocolate and caramel but I would stick with more fruit fragrances if a man is in the picture.

I use the Body Butter as an all around lotion.  It is the only lotion I use and I use it both on my face and my body.  I also put a tiny little bit of lotion on my face after I tone it and right before I start putting my makeup on.  I find that the makeup adheres better and looks smoother when I do this.  It almost works like one of those makeup primers.  I can not say enough good things about this lotion.  Body butter is a wonder cream for face and body.  I use it for my body as a moisterizing cream, on my face instead of night time wrinkle cream, and on my face I also use it as a makeup primer. I definitely use it on my face and I think it works great especially for the price.  If you have dry skin this lotion will moisturize it and your skin will soak it up, be soft and love it.

Body Butter is an amazing product and you can go generic just check lotion thickness and be sure the fragrance agrees with your skin before putting it on your face.  It is the can’t live without skin-saving staple.
