HSN Raw Essentials by Carol Alt. 100% certified organic skin care for women
Supermodel Carol Alt recently come out with her new raw essentials skin care line that uses low temperature processing to preserve nourishing ingredients. Her raw essentials skin care is quite unique because it is free of additives and chemicals. Believe it or not there are no petrochemicals, no artificial colorants, no perfumes, no bulking agents, no glycols and no parabens. Raw essentials skin care products contain pretty much raw ingredients and the skin care line follows the same principles of her raw food lifestyle. Cold-pressed fats and oils are used so that skin can be moisturized the all natural way, at least that is what the HSN (home shopping network) product line claims.
I actually think that Alt’s skin care line is unique in its natural ingredients. But the only thing is that I am not sure it matters much to me. I am not an opponent of preservatives, particularly if they ensure that a skin care lotion or cream stays fresh after I buy it. I am a little suspicious of all natural beauty and cosmetic products in fact, because the preservatives um, preserve. But if you are vehemently into all natural skin care and can afford it, you should definitely check out her raw essentials.
I searched extensively for reviews on raw essentials. Her raw-juvenate eye recoup got mixed reviews (average 3.8 of five stars) from women who ordered it from HSN. Mainly, they complained about the lotions pump dispenser being too strong, and water being listed as the main ingredient. Some women did like it however. Perhaps the pump keeps bacteria from getting into the cream. The skin care line is expensive so I would not invest unless you are an organic and natural beauty product junkie/aficionado. This product line is really only going to interest women who need (due to allergies or other concerns) or demand all natural ingredients.
The raw essentials raw-surection body wash got a higher review (4.2 out of 5) from HSN readers. Yet at a clearance price of $12.97 I would be priced out. Body wash does just what it says, washes you and goes right down the drain. It’s not in my budget to use a natural one, especially at that price. Again, if you are into products that are free of petroleum, sulfates, detergents and fragrances, that are not tested on animals either, then it could be good to try. It is formulated with aloe leaf juice, oat extract and hydroxyl acids. Oh by the way, HSN charges around five dollars for shipping. I have to confess I don’t buy anything from HSN or T.V. shows, as I try to find products at the drugstore instead.
Her raw essentials by Carol Alt Raw-scue night restore cream is her highest review product at an average rating of (4.5/5). Women did like this beauty treatment. I can see why, because it is blended with raw aloe vera gel, virgin coconut oil and tamanu oil. The oils sound nice. The reviews stated that it smelled a bit funny and women were disappointed with getting only one ounce not two for the money. But overall, the natural ingredient beauty junkies did love the night restore cream. One thing about HSN (I am not a big fan) that I do have to give kudos for is that they do include customer reviews of their products on their site so at least you can read what customers have to say.
Essentially all of these HSN or infomercial skin care lines are expensive. Carol Alt’s Raw essential collections is on par with other skin care lines sold on HSN. You can get the 5 product introductory skin care line for around $70.00 which includes the raw-cover facial revive wash, the raw-activate daily revitalizing moisturizer, the raw-juvenate eye recoup, the raw-fresh facial toner and the raw-finish rigourous face scrub. Organic oriented women, or those with extremely sensitive skin issues such as rosacea, might appreciate the natural product lines more than others.
While I think it’s really cool that she has this cosmetic body and facial skin care product line that is free of additives and preservatives, my personal consumer opinion is that you can get products at the drug store with at least some key natural ingredients (ok maybe they have preservatives and fragrance) that are equally skin effective. If I had unlimited resources I would buy organic products but on my budget I look for drug store brands that have moisturizing ingredients in them and I live with the additives as a necessary beauty budget evil. I’d buy moisturizing body butter from Tree Hut before I would get an organic cream that costs four or five times the price.
Carol Alt is a natural beauty even as she reaches 50 years old
I think Carol Alt is beautiful, smart, has interesting things to say about health and beauty, she clearly stands behind her organic and raw diet and skin care product line and believes in what she does whole heartedly. That’s probably why she has been so successful. She most certainly deserves mention on this site about mature women who are ageless and beautiful. I think she was born in 1960 making her at around 50 at the time of this post.
