Lip Gloss adds shine to your lips and accentuates mouth wrinkles. Lip balm is the perfect lip product to minimize aging lips
Lip balm is the best lip product. Lip gloss, while it serves to gloss lips, does not provide the same anti-aging effect to a woman’s lips. When you gloss lips you add a shiny sheen to them. You might think this is beautiful but really the hi gloss draws shiny attention towards your lips. If you have vertical lip wrinkles and signs of aging around or near your mouth or nasal label folds, the gloss is going to serve as a magnet, drawing attention to the aging flaws. It is precisely what you do not want. Synthetic glossy shine like this contrasts very poorly with aging skin! If you want the ultimate makeup secret for anti aging then don’t use the lip gloss – use lip balm instead.
Lip Balm for Chapped lips has a waxy texture and is not the best lip balm
I prefer the lip balm products over lip gloss products by far. For beautiful lips all lip balms are not equal. The balms that are meant to handle chapped lips such as Chapstick, Carmex lip, Blistex and medicated lip balm have waxy textures and additives added to them that I don’t like. I am not knocking balm for dry lips because you don’t want dry lips. If your lips are chapped and dry you definitely want to use the medicated balms that can treat that. But what I am saying is that if you want to look younger, the best lip product is classic lip balm. Treat problems with the specialized formula lip balms. Some balms have SPF sun protection added which is great is you get dry lips from sun exposure and need to protect them. If your lips are in good condition, stick to the non medicated lip balms as they have the best texture and consistency for keeping your lips looking soft, natural and luscious.
Lip Balm enhances your natural lips and keeps lips natural looking, soft and luscious
I love lip balm! It is inexpensive, lasts forever, and makes your lips look soft and natural without drawing undue attention to aging flaws in the mouth and nose area. There are many different types of balm including those that contain beeswax, shea butter, flavors like rose and strawberry, and softening oils. If you want to buy lip balm there certainly are plenty of variations to choose from.
I’ve tried a bunch of different lip balms and lip glosses. I’ve tried everything from Keihl’s lip balm which is very expensive, to plain old Vaseline which is very greasy. By far my favorite lip balm to buy is Rachel Perry Lip Lover, and good ole Burt’s Bees. I vastly prefer the lip balm that comes in the little containers pots. The lip balm that comes in containers is thickest and a little bit sticky, whereas the lip balm that comes in squeeze tubes is more fluid. The pot lip balms are by far the best for making your lips look gorgeous. The thicker balm adheres well to the lips. It gives your lips a very subtle natural looking sheen and it stays on the longest. If the balm is too sticky for your liking and you don’t like it on your fingers you can buy a lip stick makeup brush and use the brush to apply the balm. Barring that, you can get the balm in solid twist up tube (like chapstick) form which also has a thick consistency. I definitely prefer the thicker lip balm because it stays on longest and looks the most natural.
Burt’s Bees. I love Burt’s Bees lip balm stick, It’s the best lip balm to buy for the price!
Burt’s Bee is a great lip balm product. I used to use lip gloss and have so many glosses still in my makeup case but once I discovered Burt’s Bees I was an instant convert. The product looks so great on older lips! It gives lips a subtle shine and it adheres to your lips really well and stays on. I read and research beauty reviews and makeup reviews and I have consistently read that Makeup artists and pro’s use lip balm and prefer it on older models. I also like the Burt Bee lip balm that is tinted that comes in a chap stick style applicator. The tint is subtle. If you feel like your lips are looking too drab and dull, give the tinted lip balm a try. Burt Bee comes in tinted versions, just pick a natural looking tint color. Try the Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in the shade Rhubarb. It’s a lip balm with a hint of luminescent color. Lip balm tops both lip stick and lip gloss for anti-aging your lips and giving you a luscious looking, kissable mouth!
Lip Lover Rachel Perry SPF 15 Natural Lip Balm is the best lip palm in a pot!
Burt’s Bees Brand lip balms aren’t the only natural beauty product to try. Often times you can find alternative brands for less at the 99cent store. Another natural lip balm products that must be mentioned is Rachel Perry SPF 15 natural lip balm. Wow! I have a pot of this lip balm in Very Vanilla flavor that I picked up and it has lasted me so long I can’t even remember where or when I got it. I think I got it at Rite-Aid. I love this stuff! I like the lip balm that comes in a pot, which can be applied with a lip brush. Rachel Perry lip lover is a non fattening mouth watering sweet lip balm.
Its formulated with plant extracts and oils and has ingredients including aloe vera, squalane (olive oil), shea butter, salflower oil and soy oil. It’s considered an organic natural balm because the ingredients come from sustainably harvested plans (they are renewable and don’t deplete the rainforest). It’s got seven flavors it comes in, has the SPF 15 for protection from UVA and UVB rays, it’s filled with vitamins B and E, and it stay’s on and smoothes lips making them look younger!
So my advice is to use lip balm as it adheres well to lips, softens them and gives them the right amount of shine (as opposed to lip gloss which is too shiny). Try Burt’s Bees Lip Balm, Rachel Perry Lip Lover, or look at the 99cent store in the cosmetics section for all natural alternatives that will cost you less money. A container of Rachel Perry organic and natural lip balm will only cost you about $2.99 and it will last you a year!
Lip Balm Reviews
I checked out numerous lip balm reviews and unfortunately most of the top reviewed balms were more geared towards medicated chapped lip relief. Natural Ice Medicated Lip Protectant with Sunscreen rated high, along with Blistex, Carmex and ChapStick. But these aren’t necessarily going to make you look beautiful or younger (but they do cure dry lips). The medicated balms are too goopy and don’t look as good on. For pure beauty sake, try Burt’s Bees or Rachel Perry which will not only relieve dry lips but at the same time will make your lips look amazing. The balms and sticks have the best consistency. Avoid the more fluid squeeze creams as they don’t stay on, are not as emollient and don’t give the same beautiful lips effect! If you keep your lips protected and moisturized with balm containing lip softening and sun protection ingredients, you probably won’t end up needing the medicated stuff anyways.
