Supermodel hair and makeup chameleon Linda Evangelista still models for L’Oreal cosmetics and is part of the new generation of older supermodels that cosmetic companies are using to represent beauty products and cosmetics specially formulated for the skin care, makeup and cosmetic needs of the mature woman. I expect this market segment to explode in coming years.

Linda Evangelista is one of fashion’s legendary chameleons. She is Canadian and was born in 1965 making her 44 years old at the time of this blog post. Evangelista is one of those supermodels in the league of Cindy Crawford and Christie Turlington that has had longevity in her modeling career and has stayed at the top by changing her look year after year. I still see her in magazine ads for L’Oreal Paris makeup. She is still a spokesmodel for Loreal Paris and Lorial Paris Studio Secrets Professional. She became quite famous for the quote “We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day” in a Vogue magazine interview, referring to how her and a few other famous models were calling the shots and making big time money.

In the late eighties, she turned heads when she donned a little-boy-style haircut which was the first of her many dramatic hairstyle changes. Many women emulated the hairstyle and she wound up on countless magazine covers. In 2007 she signed an exclusive modeling contract with L’Oreal Paris when she was already into her forties! She’s one of the most recognized beautiful faces in the fashion world however she never became a true sex symbol with men. Her boyish haircuts and look can be considered more androgenous and different than classically beautiful sex symbols (such as Victoria Secret Models Heidi Klum). For this reason, she remained high up in the fashion world but really never became an ultimate sex symbol to men.

Linda Evangelista is the perfect example of how you can experiment with your looks. I created a collection some of my favorite fashion and modeling pictures of her shown here. Evangelista is famous for changing both her hair style and hair color through the years. Of the photographs I collected I really love the big image to the far right. She looks absolutely stunning in that photograph. Very rarely would I say that women look good in short hair however she really has the beauty in her face to pull off the look. I do not particularly like her as a blond. The blond color really doesn’t do much for her and makes her look ordinary. This is a common situation with women (myself included) in that they like the blond hair but the blond hair color does not do a lot to enhance their skin coloring and complexion.

It’s no surprise Linda Evangelista carved out a powerful niche for herself atop the most influential super models. She really is spectacular looking and takes her look to the edge with her different looks and styles. I also want to point out that in the middle large picture she looks naturally beautiful and incredible without much makeup on at all. She has a natural look about her in that picture and I do love it and choose it for this post. The silver necklace with the topaz pendant at her cleavage is totally sexy and exactly the right kind of look for a woman in her forties, I love love love it! I also love the dazzling blue dress on her. As I’ve said in many of my posts, solid jewel color clothes with a bit of detailing give a women that elusive “I’m a model” look.

She looks like a natural beauty. If she’s had plastic surgery work done on her, it’s hardly noticeable to me. I noticed in early photographs her teeth were much smaller. Though still very pretty, her teeth were smaller and she was way more “gummy”. So she’s clearly had veneers done like most models. In the photograph just to the top left of the blue dress I can pretty clearly see six veneers on her top teeth. They look good. Below that small picture is one where she has dark hair. The tip of her nose looks longer than others so that photograph is older and she probably had shaping (rhinoplasty) done on her nose. The tip of her nose looks to me like it has been lifted and refined. Over all though, she looks pretty much exactly the same so whatever she’s done has been tasteful and completely true to her original natural beauty. I don’t like the blond, light brown, dark brown or orange hair as much as the medium brown hair. She looks best with the color she was born with – a medium chestnut brown hair color.
