There are many considerations and in this series of cosmetic surgery articles I will touch upon a few important things to consider if you are planning on going under the cosmetic surgery knife anytime soon. Remember that cosmetic surgery is no small undertaking (surgery is surgery and carries risks) and should be well planned out by any woman considering it.

Cosmetic surgery surgeons
One of the most important steps in considering cosmetic surgery is that of selecting a cosmetic surgeon. While it is no guarantee that your surgery will be perfect, at the very least your choice of surgeons can up your chances that everything turns out as you hoped. I personally think that word of mouth is a great way to locate a cosmetic surgeon. You want to find a surgeon that has had years of training under another top surgeon followed by years and years of successful practice on his own merit! Board certification is obviously important as are their overall credentials and surgery experience. You want a surgeon that operates in a quality accredited medical facility.
Better Beverly Hills for your plastic surgery than a small suburb. Go to a big city like Los Angeles or New York or Dallas, and find out who the best surgeons are
Large cities are a good place to go for plastic surgery. Beverly Hills plastic surgeons for example, is home to some of the best surgeons in Los Angeles. Large metropolitan areas with established, reputable surgeons who have been in the business for years and who have done hundreds of the procedures you are getting successfully before your turn, is what you want. If you live near a big city such as New York, Dallas, Chicago, or Los Angeles then that is a good place to start looking for cosmetic surgeons. Find the best doctors in the biggest city that is within reasonable proximity to where you live. Top doctors often share medical facilities and services so some times you will find them in close proximity to each other.
I talk about how you can cut expenses on beauty products and beauty treatments. But one area I do not think you should cut expenses on is your cosmetic surgeon. Go to a top reputation surgeon. Believe it or not there are substantial savings you can get even with the top cosmetic doctors. With the economy being so tough you can often negotiate lowered prices. You can try to get your surgery done at a time of year where their schedule is a bit slower. Even the top surgeons in the country want to keep their schedules filled. The best cosmetic surgeons keep their patients for years – decades. That rhinoplasty operation that you get now may become a neck left a decade or two later from the same doctor. With a good surgeon, you would get a discount for any future surgeries because you are already a happy client of theirs.
Complications do happen which is why you want to have a surgeon who will see you through any complication and whom you have confidence in. The cost of cosmetic surgery is going to skyrocket if you have to go elsewhere for a new revision surgery
There is no doubt in my mind that spending the money on a top reputation surgeon is worth the financial investment. While it is elective, it is surgery after all. Doctors with the highest standards will also be there for you to correct any problems that you encounter. You have to understand that even with a top doctor, that breast implant job that you seek could easily come out with a complication a few years later. Complications happen to the very best doctors around! You can’t 100% percent prevent a complication but you at the least want a great cosmetic doctor who will get you through any complication safely. With a well established surgeon their reputation is paramount, they have spent years establishing it, and they truly want to do the best job on their patients and have them be pleased, if not ecstatic with the outcome.
Don’t be sold be a cosmetic surgery special. Research a surgeon carefully from multiple sources of information. Stay in a familiar city and in country for that matter. No amount of price discount is worth your risking your health and safety for
I would not choose a surgeon based on reading information on the internet alone. Make sure to research this down multiple avenues from word of mouth, to magazines, newspapers, local community reviews, and consultations in person. Remember to consult with several surgeons and ascertain completely what all the risks and consequences are well ahead of time. Looking at before and after photos done by the surgeon also will give you an idea as to their sense of aesthetics and experience. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your gut instincts. I would be wary of going to remote places (like traveling out of country), clinics with multiple doctors (better to go to an established office), specials (e.g. cheap liposuction advertised on the radio), and so on. The bottom line is don’t get lured in by potential discounts at the risk of lowering the quality of surgical care that you will receive. While I do love a discount, I wouldn’t take any risks on something as huge as a facelift. It’s just not worth it to cut corners on the cost of cosmetic surgery. Skip the clothes shopping, expensive hair and nail appointments for a year and use generic makeup and cheap beauty products instead to save up. Most women only get a plastic surgery once or twice in their life time if at all, so it is worth it to do your homework, save up and make careful plans for something this huge.
