Casual shorts for women. Fashion tip is to take care when buying ladies shorts and hold out for the perfect body shaping look
Denim shorts can make you look very sexy if you choose the right pair. When buying a pair of shorts I would suggest selecting a solid color. I also like a figure forming fit for the shorts yet do not get them too tight. Denim fabric with some stretch material in it will be the most comfortable. Shorts look best when they fit the figure and have a neat waist band and hem line to them. I’ve selected two pair of shorts that I believe would look the most attractive on women.
The white pair would look amazing on a more slender woman. The short length is sexy if your legs can pull it off. White looks great with a bit of a tan (you can get a home spray on tanner). The plain solid white color and simplicity of them makes them a perfect choice of shorts for summer and hot weather. I love the blue denim shorts on the right for a heavier woman. The blue color is more slenderizing. They are also figure forming and would look amazing on a larger shape. I like the neat hem line. I also like the slightly longer length which would hide some leg flaws. Notice that they are not too long as you still want to show some legs! This is as long of a pant length I would go for. Anything longer is too much of a Bermuda length short and not good. I also like the simple waist band on both pairs that I have shown above.
This may seem like a silly post but I do my fair share of people watching. I see women all the time wearing shorts that make them look horrible. Below I am showing what tends to happen when we throw on shorts to go out in. And I am illustrating the drastic comparison to show how bad shorts can make you look if you are not careful! Cut off denim “Daisy Duke” shorts are fun to wear every once in a while like to wash your car in. But barring that, funky shorts should be avoided like the plague. Go for the classic basics in a solid color with a snug but not too tight fit and simple design. This type of shorts will make you look the sexiest.
Baggy shorts do nothing to show off your figure
The pair of light blue shorts is a surfer style “board shorts”. They are made by a surfer clothing company. They are a soft, very light weight corduroy material. They are very comfortable. What I do not like is that they are a bit baggy looking. The material looks wrinkled and sloppy. I also think that the pale blue color does nothing. I really dislike pastel colors and think solid string colors look better. The faded pastel color along with the bagginess makes these shorts a no.
Cut off sweat pants look sloppy and haphazard
The next pair of shorts is the cow patterned shorts. The shorts were originally a pair of Capri house type sweat pants. At some point they got cut off with a pair of scissors. Okay well I know there are a lot of ladies running around with make-shift shorts that are soft and pajama like. The problem is that if you wear these out you look like you are in pajamas. The pattern is obnoxious. This pair, while comfortable, should not make it out into the public. If you are sick at home in bed in summer, wear these ones. Don’t be seen in them.
Rolled up shorts are not flattering from behind
The final pair of shorts is yet another no. I like the fact that the color is solid yet it is not the basic solid like white, blue, tan, black, etc. The hot pink is just too loud and obnoxious for shorts. If the top was hot pink that is fine, but the shorts would be better in denim. Another big no-no with this pair of shorts is that they are rolled up, giving the “bloomers” look. This is a big don’t for shorts. Rolled up shorts do something really bad to your figure and especially from the back they will not make your rear end look attractive or sleek. The shorts are way too potatoe sack from he rear.
I hope this illustration of shorts not to wear has enlightened you to the fact that something as simple as your shorts can wreck your looks. Fabulously styled women pay attention to all these little details. The best way to look fabulous, even if you don’t have a natural sense of style, is to keep things simple and classic with solid colors and a neat clean design. The shorts that are do’s you can easily get at stores like Old Navy and The Gap or any where for that matter.
